HISTORY of the BIGFOOT, Boot/Shoe-in Slipper (Indoor Overshoe)Long ago in Eastern Europe an over-the-farm-boot / shoe slipper was slowly evolving. Made of wood, wool, woven rags and other local leftover materials. In Russia, scrap wool was boiled, made into felt & shaped into clogs used to cover muddy farm work boots. One day, working people were invited to enter the famous museum in St. Petersburg with its marvelous marble inlaid floors. Imagine the officials’ plight…if left on, the muddy boots would destroy the floors…if taken off…a disaster! VOILA! The early felt boot cover.
